Focusing on the public restroom, the idea of privacy and personal intimacy is put into question. A place that is designed to be private is actually public, the space lies in between two distinct classifications. In a public/private space the idea of comfort is challenged and the mind as well as the body must accept the location if they wish to live a normal functional lifestyle. A person must overcome anxiety or a feeling of discomfort and learn to trust in a community space meant for private bodily acts.
