Mirrors, two-way mirrors, fluorescent lights, white translucent tarps
Dimensions variable
A window gallery was transformed into an optical illusion. The observation window of the gallery was coated with a film that turned the glass into a two-way mirror from the outside. Mirrors were placed on the opposite wall of the window inside the gallery. Lights were hung on the sidewalls and translucent traps covered the light source making the sidewalls appear as if they were made of glowing light. A viewer could then look inside the gallery at the mirrors and not see their reflection, instead only see infinite interior space reflected back. When the HVAC system turned on inside the space, the walls of light would appear to be breathing and the structure that was thought to be vertical would bend and fluctuate with the interior air system, adding another layer of illusion to the visual phenomenon.
